Daily Journal Names Shook Big-Trial Win in List of Top Verdicts

Shook was recognized by the Daily Journal for obtaining a significant defense verdict in November 2024. The win caught the attention of editors who selected it among its Top Verdicts list in California in 2024.

The Shook team obtained a defense verdict for The Clorox Company and Walmart after a two-week trial. The plaintiff sued for negligence and strict product liability, and sought $43 million dollars in damages.

Shook trial partners on the defense team included Annie Chuang and Lindsey Heinz. After hearing the evidence, the jury deliberated for a day and a half before returning the full defense verdict. 

The case is Hernandez v. The Clorox Company Chemical Co. tried in California Superior Court, Los Angeles County.
