MLM Names Partners to POWER List: Construction Law

For the second year in a row, Missouri Lawyers Media (MLM) has selected Shook Partners, Michael Cargnel and Laura Lawson, for The POWER List: Construction Law 2024. The POWER List is a regular feature from MLM that examines the power brokers who lead and influence various parts of the Missouri legal community.

As co-chair of Shook’s Business Litigation Practice, Cargnel focuses his practice on complex commercial disputes, with a special emphasis on construction, breach of contracts, employment and more. “With a deep breadth of experience across multiple technologies, Cargnel has served as lead counsel in contractor/supplier disputes involving problems such as tunneling and shaft construction, high-rise specialty foundations, advanced water treatment plants and power generation facilities.,” wrote MLM.

Lawson represents design professionals, contractors and owners as part of her construction law practice. She defends the manufacturers of medical devices in product liability cases. Lawson is also co-leader of a construction law team providing outside general counsel services for one of the top design firms in the country and for multiple contractors and owners who undertake construction projects.

In order to be considered for The POWER List, the Missouri Lawyers Weekly editorial team interviews respected attorneys and leaders around the state and reviews outcomes of significant cases and state records to determine the lists of what they believe to be the most powerful people in each part of the state’s legal community.
