Shook Miami to Host ACC South Florida CLE

Shook Miami is hosting the Association of Corporate Counsel South Florida Chapter (ACC South Florida) CLE, “An IP and M&A Boot Camp: What Every In-House Lawyer Should Know,” May 16, 4:15 - 6:15 p.m. ET.  

Shook Miami Senior Counsel Alex Schneider, who is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), will present the IP part of the boot camp: “Intellectual Property: Practical Considerations for Developing Patent Portfolios for In-House Lawyers.” His session will include a panel of lawyers discussing the importance of patents to a business and the typical role of in-house counsel in the patent prosecution process.

Shook Miami Corporate Services Partner James Mayor will provide the mergers and acquisitions part of the boot camp, “M&A Purchase Agreements: What Every In-House Lawyer Should Understand After a Deal Closes.” Areas of particular focus will include provisions addressing working capital adjustments, earnout provisions, and indemnification. Mayor will provide information for in-house lawyers with all levels of M&A experience.

Both presentations will end with time for Q & A sessions and are part of the ACC South Florida’s “Off to the Races” Annual Progressive Dinner.
