Significant Second Defense Verdict in Product Liability MDL Reported by ALM
Law.com reported on Shook, Hardy & Bacon obtaining a significant defense verdict in the Taxotere MDL pending in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. The article is, “Sanofi-Aventis Wins Second Taxotere Verdict in Jury Bellwether.”
Partners Hildy Sastre, who co-chairs the firm’s product liability practice, and Jon Strongman led the Shook trial team. Partner Harley Ratliff serves as MDL lead counsel.
Sastre told ALM, “This jury found the warning given, which is a warning applicative to thousands of cases in the MDL, was adequate. It does have inventory meaning.”
Since October 5, Shook attorneys have obtained three defense verdicts in a variety of highly-watched product liability trials in Augusta, Boston and New Orleans.
The case is In re Taxotere (Docetaxel) Products Liability Litigation, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, MDL No. 16-2740.
