Shook Names Product Liability Lawyer Chris Johnson San Francisco Managing Partner
Shook has selected Product Liability Litigator Chris Johnson to lead the San Francisco office effective immediately. Johnson, who has practiced at Shook for more than two decades, will serve as managing partner for the growing office. He brings analytical and strategic thinking to the role including prior careers in business before entering the field of law.
“I’m honored for the opportunity to help the firm grow in San Francisco at an energetic pace,” said Johnson, who is a fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America. “One of my goals is to work with senior leadership to continue to attract laterals in our key areas which include class actions, commercial litigation, product liability, and environmental and toxic tort.”
Johnson focuses on litigation strategies primarily for the firm’s clients facing legal issues related to health and science. He helps clients evaluate disputes and create plans to address them according to their business needs. In addition to running case teams and trying cases, Johnson has a focus on formulating and cultivating medical, scientific and statistical strategies for addressing large and small matters by developing efficient, highly qualified teams of professionals to protect clients’ rights. Johnson also finds time to provide pro bono services. He lead a team taking a case all the way to the California Supreme Court to force state agencies to comply with Jessica’s Law by properly evaluating incarcerated potential sexual violent predators before releasing them back into the general population.
“I find pro bono work deeply rewarding and I’m fortunate to practice at a firm where it is not only encouraged but championed,” said Johnson.
