LABJ Selects Shook Partner Among City’s 500 Most Influential

Shook Los Angeles Managing Partner Michael Mallow has been included in the Los Angeles Business Journal list of the 500 most influential people for 2020. This special edition, the LA500, recognizes professionals in the region who have made an impact in their industry, community and demonstrated professional success.

Mallow is one of only 47 lawyers to be included in this year’s list, which includes the best and the brightest in the arts, banking, civic, construction, entertainment, finance, real estate and tech industries among others.

For more than 22 years, Mallow has represented clients in class action matters with a particular focus in the automotive industry. He helped open Shook’s L.A. office with Partners Mark Campbell and Rachel Straus more than a year ago. The office marked its one-year anniversary April 1.

“Shook’s holistic approach to commercial and class action litigation was a natural fit,” said Mallow in a 2019 press release. “We look forward to helping our industry trailblazing clients tackle the most challenging legal questions facing their businesses today. Our team offers Shook’s nationwide network of clients a strategic defense with deep roots in California venues, where, according to some commentators, more than half of all consumer class actions are filed.”

Shook just added two more automotive litigators to the growing Los Angeles office.
