Shook Partners to Discuss Information Governance, Data Security at ACC
Shook attorneys will present two sessions at the Association of Corporate Counsel Annual Meeting in Phoenix, October 28-29, 2019.
First, Partner Gabe Egli will present "Navigating the ESI Crisis When Your Adversaries Target Information Governance Practices" on Monday, October 28. The interactive role-playing session provides a hypothetical fact pattern with participants voting at key decision points to govern what happens next. Egli and his co-presenters will provide an understanding of practical steps and best practices to avoid costly information governance mistakes and potential sanctions, while still meeting ethical obligations. Egli's scheduled co-presenters are Jennifer Hamilton, senior counsel at Deere & Company; David Steele, vice president and deputy general counsel of The Home Depot, Inc.; and Jennifer Swanton, discovery counsel for Medtronic.
Next, Partners Al Saikali and Melissa Siebert will present "The Office: A Series of Privacy and Data Security Vignettes," on Tuesday, October 29. The panel, which is scheduled to include Shook alumnus Ryan Foley, now senior vice president and general counsel at Acrisure and Kellee Cueto, senior counsel at ADP Total Source, Inc., will discuss emerging issues in privacy and data security law and provide guidance on how to minimize the risks in this field. The panel will talk about biometric data, the California Consumer Privacy Act, privilege and work product, incident response and new privacy laws in Latin America.
Sessions are eligible for CLE credits.
