Michayla works in the firm’s renowned Product Liability Litigation Practice. Before coming to Shook, Michayla served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Gustavo A. Gelpí of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, where she conducted legal research, drafted judicial opinions and memoranda on criminal and civil matters, and analyzed and discussed pending matters with the Judge. 

Michayla earned her J.D. summa cum laude from Suffolk University Law School, where she was a member of the Moot Court Honor Board and served as the lead articles editor for the Suffolk Journal of Trial & Appellate Advocacy. During law school, Michayla interned for the Honorable Elspeth B. Cypher of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. This invaluable experience interning at the highest appellate court in the commonwealth of Massachusetts included her work in summarizing further appellate review applications to determine likelihood for a Court hearing and preparing recitation memoranda for justices on upcoming arguments.
