Chapman practices in Shook’s General Liability Litigation Practice Group. Before coming to Shook, Chapman was a trial attorney for an insurance company, serving as primary attorney responsible for a caseload of 65-80 personal injury claims at a time. He defended policyholders, as well as first-party claims. He was lead counsel for jury trials and more than 150 depositions and more than 30 mediations. Before that, he worked at a private law firm in insurance defense and earlier in his career focused on employment law, tort law, workers’ compensation and consumer protection litigation. 

Chapman earned his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law, where he was a staff editor for the Kansas Journal of Law & Public Policy. He earned his B.A. in criminal justice and sociology from the University of Arkansas.
