Kailin serves clients as part of the firm’s Business Litigation Group. Kailin’s experience covers a diverse array of subjects, ranging from data privacy class actions to shareholder disputes to product liability litigation.
Kailin’s pre-trial experience includes drafting pleadings, discovery, expert development, Daubert motions and other evidentiary motions and motions for summary judgment. Kailin has also served as a legal-issues attorney at trial, including arguing motions to admit key evidence and secure a favorable result for her client.
Before coming to Shook, Kailin served as a staff law clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. While clerking, she prepared and presented draft opinions and orders for all judges of the Seventh Circuit, with a focus on federal civil rights appeals.
Kailin also brings valuable hands-on business experience to her role as a business litigation attorney. In her previous career in the technology industry, Kailin has led multi-functional teams to develop a national compliance process, increase company revenue by millions of dollars, and launch new products. Kailin enjoys using insights gained from this previous career to understand her client’s business needs and provide targeted business legal counsel to her clients.
