Isamu is a senior staff attorney in Shook’s Complex Litigation Strategic Counseling Group. He is a native Japanese speaker with an intricate understanding of the nuances of Japanese corporate culture. Isamu has extensive experience in the management of Japanese language eDiscovery document review projects with an emphasis on the automotive industry. He is also experienced in the handling of various aspects of litigation in intellectual property and business litigation matters. 

Before joining Shook, Isamu served as a project manager for Japanese and English document review teams overseeing various aspects of a review project in an internal investigation for a major Japanese automotive company. He was also a co-team lead, managing various aspects of a Japanese language review project in a patent infringement matter before the ITC regarding data storage media, and an assistant team lead managing various aspects of a Japanese document review project for an automotive product liability class action lawsuit, Congressional hearing and SEC investigation. Isamu also served as a document reviewer in a Japanese document review project for a class action lawsuit for unfair business practices involving automotive parts. His extensive knowledge includes experience using the Relativity and Ringtail eDiscovery review platforms.
