Maureen excels in complex litigation matters. Her diverse experience includes product liability and tort claims involving automotive, commercial equipment and consumer products; commercial, contract and business-related litigation; employment litigation and insurance coverage disputes.
Product Liability and Class Action
Maureen has served as New York product liability counsel for several automotive manufacturers. In this role, she has successfully handled the defense of automotive product liability cases in state and federal courts. These issues included vehicle stability and rollover, airbags and restraints, roof crush, seats, crashworthiness, body structure, asbestos, electronic stability control, steering and handling, braking systems, transmissions, fuel systems, electrical systems and control units and other vehicle componentry. Maureen also represents clients in related commercial disputes between manufacturers and component-part suppliers.
Maureen represents clients in class actions, multidistrict litigation and consolidated state court actions across the U.S. and regulatory matters before state attorneys general and the Federal Trade Commission. She has extensive experience counseling and guiding industry executives and key employees through preparation and defense of challenging depositions and complex discovery, including electronic discovery issues, and has received client accolades for her dedication to representation, creativity and results. She has presented lectures on product liability law topics to clients and attorney associations, including strategies for the defense of multidistrict litigation.
Business, Commercial and Insurance
Maureen represents clients in a diverse array of business litigation as well as counseling clients with respect to litigation risk and avoidance. She routinely handles breach of contract matters in the federal and state courts, including account stated, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of distribution agreements, tortious interference with contract, breach of purchase/sale agreements, and violation of agreements involving trade secrets and confidentiality. She represents small companies in shareholder derivative actions, and handles real estate disputes involving commercial property. Maureen handles complex insurance coverage disputes, declaratory judgment actions and advises clients with respect to insurance coverage.
Employment Law
Maureen provides guidance to clients on employment law issues including workplace harassment, wrongful termination and discrimination based on race, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion and ethnic origin. She drafts, reviews and negotiates employment and severance agreements for clients. Maureen also litigates matters in federal and state courts involving non-competes, non-solicitation and breach of confidentiality/trade secrets. She represents clients in discrimination cases and claims under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act and New York Human Rights Law before the state and federal courts and the New York Division of Human Rights. She proactively counsels business clients on how to address potential employment law issues for risk and litigation avoidance.

She is a member of the Litigation Counsel of America, International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) and Defense Research Institute (DRI), as well as state and local bar associations.
