Shook Announces 2025 Class of New Partners

Shook announces the promotion of 15 attorneys to partners. The promoted attorneys have shown unwavering dedication, exceptional legal skills, and relentless commitment to achieving outstanding results for the firm’s clients. The following attorneys are new partners at Shook, effective March 1.

Vicky Alvarez practices in product liability litigation defending clients against medical claims. She advises about the strengths and weaknesses of possible medical defenses and takes a deep dive into the facts of each case to pursue evidence needed to support defenses. 

Dan Cummings focuses his litigation practice on product liability matters, mass torts and class actions, serving clients in the pharmaceutical, medical device, consumer products, railroad, tobacco, chemical and automotive industries. 

Elliott Davis practices in complex legal issues in product liability litigation. His extensive trial experience includes a previous seven-year tenure with U.S. Department of Justice, with successful outcomes in various federal courts. 

Caroline Gieser represents clients in high-stakes litigation and trials throughout the United States. She has served as defense counsel in multiple trials with eight-and-nine-figure claims and has achieved wins for defendants in pre-suit negotiation, early dispositive motion practice, summary judgment, trial and appeal. 

Jenn Hatcher is a business litigator at the forefront of privacy and cybersecurity-related class action defense. She defends clients in lawsuits arising from technologies used to collect, store, use or share personal information. 

Max McGraw is an intellectual property attorney who focuses on complex IP litigation involving a variety of technologies, including computer software, telecommunications, consumer products, electronics and gaming. McGraw is licensed to practice before USPTO. 

Dalton Mott represents clients in environmental, toxic tort and product liability matters, with a particular emphasis in the energy and defense sectors. This includes Superfund and environmental cleanup matters, involving some of the largest and most complex sites in the nation.

Hillary Nicholas defends corporations against complex product liability actions in federal and state courts throughout the country, and provides regulatory counseling for medical device, pharmaceutical, consumer product, and agribusiness companies. 

Peter O’Neill litigates complex business cases. His comprehensive experience spans multiple industries and diverse practice areas, including antitrust, class actions, partnership and shareholder disputes, post-closing disputes, data privacy and intellectual property litigation. 

Torrey Peterson defends clients in complex product liability actions, focusing on pharmaceutical drug and surgical device litigations. She has worked on numerous trial teams in MDLs and was named by ALM as a finalist for Young Lawyer of the Year—Litigation. 

Adam Shoshtari leads eDiscovery strategy in high-stakes MDL, class action, mass-tort and product liability litigations. He serves global corporations in large-scale litigation and advises clients on information governance, data privacy and discovery practices. 

Chris Sorenson practices in product liability, mass tort defense and complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on environmental and toxic tort litigation of both legacy compounds and emerging substances. He has been a part of multiple jury trial wins for clients. 

Patrick J. Sullivan practices intellectual property law with a focus on patent prosecution and counseling. He has experience in a broad range of technical subject matters and counsels clients on a full range of patent-related services. 

Andre Tinoco defends companies against complex product liability actions in courts nationwide. As a member of multiple trial teams, Tinoco has substantial experience preparing trial strategy plans and serves in Shook’s Legal Issues Group analyzing and briefing complex legal issues.  

Tom Wynsma practices in complex business litigation environmental and toxic tort law. He has represented clients in state and federal courts throughout California and serves as lead or co-lead counsel for clients in defending environmental actions under federal and state environmental statutes.
