Lawdragon Inducts Shook Environmental Partner to Hall of Fame

Shook Partner John Barkett has been inducted into the 2025 Lawdragon Hall of Fame. Lawdragon has also recognized Barkett among the 500 Leading Litigators in America.

To be inducted into Lawdragon’s Hall of Fame, a lawyer must have a long and impactful career of service to the legal profession. Most of those selected have been practicing law for 40 years and in many cases, 50 or more. They are revered by clients, colleagues and opponents and their contributions have shaped the law and or the legal profession in significant ways.

Located in Shook’s Miami office, Barkett has handled scores of complex and simple litigation matters in federal and state court. He has served as a neutral in scores of matters involving in the aggregate more than $4 billion. Barkett is a member of the American Law Institute and is a fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators (CCA), the American College of Civil Trial Mediators and the American College of Environmental Lawyers.

Barkett has been recognized by Who’s Who Legal for his work in environmental law, honored by Best Lawyers in America for 20 years and was named Lawyer of the Year for four separate years.
