Shook Trio Selected for MLW Up and Coming Honor
Missouri Lawyers Media has chosen three Shook attorneys for its annual Up and Coming honor. The lawyers are being recognized for their work in Shook’s renowned Product Liability Litigation Practice, the firm’s growing corporate services and its commitment to pro bono. The Up and Coming award recognizes attorneys under 40 who demonstrate professional accomplishment and skill beyond their years.
Shook’s Up and Coming Lawyers include the following attorneys:
- Up and Coming: Senior Counsel Andrew Dockter was selected for his work in business, lending and real estate transactions and tax law for individuals and business entities. His experience extends to preparing and negotiating documents for real estate transactions, including commercial and private loans. After receiving his J.D. with an Emphasis in Business and Entrepreneurial Law, Dockter obtained his LL.M. in taxation in 2014.
- Pro Bono: Recognized for her pro bono work, Associate Lucia McMurray led Shook’s pro bono team that helped a family from Afghanistan gain asylum and remain in the United States. McMurray focuses her practice on business litigation and cybersecurity and privacy while co-leading the firm’s Asian Employee Resource Group. Her experience extends to all phases of litigation, ranging from pre-trial counseling through trial.
- Law Firm Leader: Associate Torrey Peterson practices in Shook’s Product Liability Litigation group and specializes in pharmaceutical drug and surgical device litigations. She has been on 13 trial teams in her short career. At Shook, Peterson is actively involved in recruitment and professional development. She trains Shook’s new attorneys and teaches at the firm’s Trial Practice Program. In 2021, Peterson was awarded the firm’s Award for Excellence in Professional Development.
