Shook Partners Named Barons of the Boardroom by KCMBA
Shook Partners Sandy Hawley and Leonard Searcy have been selected by the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA) for the Baron of the Boardroom Award.
Established in 2005, the Baron of the Boardroom Award is presented at the Bench-Bar & Boardroom Conference (BBBC) to one or more attorneys who have a substantial and distinguished career representing clients in corporate and business matters. This award recognizes KCMBA members whose business and corporate accomplishments and professional demeanor have resulted in consistent recognition by their peers as exemplary.
As chair of Shook’s Corporate Services Practice Group, Hawley practices in the real estate, finance and corporate areas of the firm. Her experience includes a wide variety of commercial banking and lending transactions as well as representing clients in the sale and purchase of ongoing businesses.
Searcy’s practice includes handling intellectual property matters with an emphasis on patents, trademark and copyright protection. He regularly counsels clients in developing their patents to trademark procurement and protection, including developing registration strategies.
Hawley and Searcy will be honored during the annual BBBC meeting in May.
