Shook Lawyer Recognized as Champion for Children
FosterAdopt Connect has honored Shook Attorney David Suroff with its Champion for Children Award. The recognition is given to individuals and organizations within the Kansas City community who have dedicated their time, talents and expertise to serve children and families impacted by the Missouri child welfare system and foster care
“I am fortunate to work for a firm like Shook that values and is committed to pro bono,” said Suroff. “I’m humbled to earn this award and could not have made a difference in these families’ lives without our dedicated team of paralegals who assist me in this important work for our community.”
FosterAdopt Connect works with families in Missouri and Kansas navigating the child welfare system. The FosterAdopt Connect Champion for Children Award is a symbol of the organization’s gratitude and appreciation for those who have made a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families, embodying the spirit of compassion, advocacy and service.
Suroff joined Shook’s pro bono team more than eight years ago, after almost 20 years as a Missouri state public defender. He represents juveniles in status offense, delinquency, and certification cases; and represents parents in neglect, TPR, guardianship, adoption cases among other areas.
