Forbes Names Shook Attorney in 30 Under 30: Chicago

Forbes has named Shook Associate Jousef Shkoukani in the 2023 edition of “30 Under 30: Chicago.” Shkoukani was recognized for his non-profit Unified Under Hope (UUH).

Unified Under Hope is a Chicago-based organization with a mission to empower the next generation of leaders by addressing America’s education inequality throughout minority school districts.  

“To think an idea that spawned while quarantining during the pandemic would go on to achieve a Forbes 30 Under 30 recognition for our efforts in helping hundreds of minority students in Michigan’s lower socioeconomic school districts is surreal. But I’d be crazy to think that Unified Under Hope’s success is mine alone,” said Shkoukani. “Our team, board, donors, and supporters have made UUH the non-profit, 501(c)(3) that it is today. And I’m beyond grateful.”

UUH matches college and recent graduate tutors with students of similar backgrounds, interests and geographical ties. This match and tutoring enables academic success while creating mentorships for many first generation students. So far, UUH works with some of the largest school districts in the United States and has served over 500 students.

Shkoukani joined Shook Chicago in 2021 and focuses his practice on product liability litigation with an emphasis on tort and business litigation matters.
