Shook Global Aerospace Client Recognizes Firm for Diversity Initiatives
Lockheed Martin has selected Shook, Hardy & Bacon to receive its 2022 recognition for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion. The honor recognizes the firm’s diverse staffing profile and year-over-year improvement in this area.
Lockheed Martin said Shook scored above industry average for its overall diversity, its staffing of Lockheed Martin matters and for its percentage of female and minority equity partners at the firm.
“At Lockheed Martin, maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace is imperative to our business,” said Maryanne Lavan, Lockheed Martin Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. “Diverse views influence and contribute to our success in meeting business and legal objectives. We’re proud to honor Shook, Hardy & Bacon, who have demonstrated through programs and partnerships that they are focused on attracting and retaining diverse talent.”
Lockheed Martin launched its Law Firm Diversity Assessment in 2015. The annual assessment compares diversity data provided by Shook and other top law firms with industry averages, and analyzes the data across the diversity dimensions of female, non-Caucasian, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) persons, individuals with disabilities, and veteran status for the total firm, staffing of Lockheed Martin matters and equity partnership.
Shook succeeded in increasing the percentage of hours billed by female and minority attorneys on Lockheed Martin matters and continues its strong representation of diverse attorneys on their Executive Committee. These increases contributed to Shook, Hardy & Bacon’s exceptional performance.
