MCCA Selects Shook Partner as One of 25 MCCA Rising Stars

The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) selected Shook Partner Matt DePaz as a 2022 MCCA Rising Star, one of 25 diverse attorneys leading initiatives for “systemic change” in their communities and workplaces. 

The annual MCCA Rising Stars list honors attorneys who show a pursuit of excellence in law while demonstrating a compassion for those in need by giving back to others. DePaz’s accomplishments include excellence in his legal career while building relationships within and outside of the firm. DePaz recruited more than 100 diverse students to the Shook Scholars Institute, a program that develops first-year diverse law students, and he was instrumental as a team member in launching the “Shook Social Circuit,” an app that offers diverse young lawyers the opportunity to connect with seasoned rainmakers for mentorship and social interaction.

DePaz will be recognized at the MCCA’s annual Creating Pathways to Diversity Conference in New York City, October 18, where the Association is celebrating its 25th year of championing the hiring, retention and promotion of diverse attorneys in corporate law departments and law firms.
