Law360 Quotes Shook Chair on Legal Heroines

Law360 quoted Shook Chair Madeleine McDonough’s remarks on the courage found in women legal professionals during her turn as a panelist in a recent webinar.

“It’s in the nature of the profession,” McDonough replied, when asked to define a legal heroine. “It demands some level of courage, of fortitude in the quest for [noble causes].”

McDonough, who noted Ruth Bader Ginsburg as an example, was one of several women legal chiefs quoted in the article, “Women Lawyers Look Past Men for Legal Heroines.”

The webinar was hosted by the Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession (IILP), a nonprofit group supporting the hiring and retaining of minorities, women and LGBTQ+ people in the field of law. McDonough is on the Institute’s board of directors.
