Shook Lawyers Present Three Employment Litigation Webinars
Shook Partner and Leader of the firm’s National Employment Litigation and Policy Practice Bill Martucci will present in three employment litigation webinars hosted by The Missouri Bar throughout the summer. All three are eligible for MCLE credits and all times listed are Central time.
“The Ever-Expansive Workplace and the Rights of LGBTQ,” takes place May 18, and again on August 11, both scheduled from 12:00-1:00 p.m. In a landmark decision, the Supreme Court of the United States recognized LGBTQ protections under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and the full participation of the LGBTQ community in the American workplace. In light of this historical legal development and dynamic employment policies, understanding these protections is essential to guiding business and representing individuals. Speakers are Martucci and Shook Associate Emily Pedersen.
“Winning Discrimination Employment Jury Trials,” will be presented June 22, 12:00-2:15 p.m. This program explores the dynamic of winning employment jury trials, including the foundational aspects of the discovery process leading to the trial presentation. Key building blocks to success will be featured. Speakers are Martucci and Eric W. Smith and Athena Dickson of Siro Smith & Dickson.
“Wage Hour Law in a Nutshell: Understanding the Basics and Beyond” takes place July 19, 12:00–1:00 p.m. The Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 continues to present serious challenges for meaningful compliance. This program is designed to provide an understanding of the basic framework of the FLSA, including the key areas of exemption, and the common problem areas that often arise. Martucci is the speaker.
