Three Shook Attorneys Present at Lawyers for Civil Justice Meeting
Shook Attorneys Chris Gramling, Andrew Trask and Katie Jackson will participate in three in-person-only sessions of the Lawyers for Civil Justice (LCJ) Membership Meeting in Nashville, December 2.
Associate Katie Jackson will be speaking at the 9:15 – 9:45 a.m. session: “Support LCJ Efforts to Reform Rule 702 . . . and Don’t Say Daubert!” The session will address the pending reform amendment to Federal Rule of Evidence 702 and why it is needed.
Of Counsel Andrew Trask will be on the panel, “Superior to Class Actions: Why Courts Should Consider Defendants’ Recalls and Warranties Before Certifying a Class as the ‘Superior’ Means of Resolving Consumer Claims,” 10:30 – 11:15 a.m. The panel will discuss LCJ’s proposal to amend Rule 23(b)(3).
Partner Chris Gramling will be moderating the “Corporate Counsel Roundtable Panel,” 2:45 – 3:45 p.m., on navigating the U.S. litigation landscape as the country transitions from the pandemic to a new normal.
LCJ membership includes individuals in corporations, law firms and defense bar organizations who collaborate to advocate for legal reforms.
