Charter New York Shook Partners Recognized as Super Lawyers
New York Super Lawyers Magazine has selected two Shook New York attorneys for recognition in 2021. The list includes two seasoned attorneys who joined Shook earlier this year during the opening of the firm’s New York office in New York City.
The opening of Shook’s New York office in January of 2021 expanded upon the firm’s presence of top defense litigators in the Northeast. In addition to Shook’s offices in Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., the New York office attorneys represent clients in the health, science and technology industries with a focus on pharmaceutical product liability litigation.
- Kim Penner – Personal Injury – Products Defense;
- Bill Vita – Civil Litigation Defense.
Penner focuses her practice on product liability work for pharmaceutical clients, medical device manufacturers and other mechanical devices. Her educational background gives clients an edge having earned an undergraduate degree in natural sciences from Johns Hopkins University. Penner also holds a master’s degree in biochemistry and sociology which supports her in researching the science behind injury claims from pharmaceutical and medical device use. She recently earned an M.S. in individualized genomics and health.
Vita is a three decades-long trial attorney and has represented national and international clients. Vita’s practice is concentrated on representing clients in business disputes regarding trade secrets, unfair competition, licenses, contracts and banking fraud. Vita has an extensive background in practicing in the New York Court System in both state and federal courts.
