Shook Partner Appointed to Key Role at The George Washington University Law School
The Law School Dean of The George Washington University Law School has appointed Shook Partner John Lewis, Jr. to serve as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council. Lewis, along with other alumni and accomplished legal professionals, will serve as an advisor to Dean Dayna Matthew on a variety of legal issues.
“Having earned my law degree from GW Law, it is an honor to be asked to participate in this important role,” said Lewis, a 1990 alumnus of the law school. “Providing strategic guidance on preparing the next generation of lawyers is something I take very seriously and I’m humbled to be working with peers who are like-minded about education and issues pertaining to the legal industry.”
The council is comprised of alumni and top-tier legal professionals at the highest level of their fields, who will provide the dean with expert advice on a variety of issues. Lewis has more than 25 years of experience as a trial lawyer, in-house litigation and compliance counsel. In addition, he chairs Shook’s Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives.
