Shook Summers Help Operation Breakthrough Children Ready for School

In a friendly competition, the Shook Kansas City summer associates vied against other law firms to raise funds for Operation Breakthrough children. Organizers commended Shook summer associates for raising the most funds to help buy school supplies. The combined efforts of multiple law firms means 600 children will have a better beginning to the new school year.

Lawyers and judges who are members of Lawyers Encouraging Academic Performance (LEAP) will distribute the supplies at the annual “Back-to-School Breakfast” which will be held July 26, 2019. Operation Breakthrough is a nonprofit daycare serving vulnerable populations of Kansas City. Shook Partner Sarah Lynn Baltzell serves on the board of directors of LEAP. Summer associates will be on hand for the event.
