Missouri Lawyers Weekly Selects Balloun and Martucci for ICON Award

Missouri Lawyers Weekly has selected two Shook lawyers to receive its prestigious ICON Award. MLW chose retired Partner Gene Balloun and Employment Litigation Partner Bill Martucci for the honor, which recognizes attorneys and judges “for their notable and sustained success and leadership both within and beyond the field of law.”

Balloun had a prestigious legal career advising clients for more than five decades in commercial, antitrust, tort and class action litigation matters. In addition to his legal practice, he has devoted many hours to improving the lives of foster children through adoptions and by forming, along with others, the firm’s Kansas Foster and Adoptive Children Scholarship Fund, which assists foster children who want to seek a higher education.

Martucci won the honor for his substantive legal work for national clients, integral role in expanding Shook’s geographic footprint,and his longtime commitment to diversity and devotion to the community.

MLW will feature Balloun, Martucci and other honorees at an event this spring. In 2018, Shook Partner Jon Gray was selected for the ICON Award.
