Salcedo Named President of Hispanic Bar Association of Greater Kansas City
Shook, Hardy & Bacon Associate Maria Salcedo has been elected 2016 President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Greater Kansas City. Salcedo previously served as Vice President of the organization. HBAGKC is the local chapter of the Hispanic National Bar Association.
In her new role, Salcedo will continue to prepare for the 2017 HNBA national convention that will be held for the first time in Kansas City; more than 800 attorneys, judges and in-house counsel from around the country will attend the annual event.
HBAGKC, which was founded in 1992 works to increase local recruiting and retention of Hispanic attorneys. The organization provides networking and mentoring opportunities for local attorneys and law students and works to build strong relationships with the Kansas City community, businesses, firms, and local bar associations
An associate in the firm’s Global Products Liability Group, Salcedo represents companies in individual and complex product liability cases. She has served on several trial and case teams that have consistently achieved positive results for their clients, including the defense of tobacco and health cases in Florida. Salcedo also has experience in managing multinational product recalls for her clients.
