Songer Named to Women Who Mean Business List
Shook, Hardy & Bacon Partner Ann Songer has been named to the Kansas City Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business 2015 list. Songer was honored among 25 other women in the Kansas City area.
When asked about the best advice she’d ever received, Songer describes how a former colleague told her that she needed to push herself outside her comfort zone to be a great litigator.
“I took that to heart,” Songer said. “I made sure I was pushing myself into places I was maybe uncomfortable going. Certainly, the more you do it, the more comfortable you get.”
Both Shook’s Chair John Murphy and General Litigation and Business Services Chair George Wolf were quoted in the article praising Songer’s strengths, including her quiet leadership and listening skills.
The Business Journal article also mentions Songer’s work encouraging Shook’s family-friendly policies like flexible work schedules.
