Webinar on New Claim Construction Standards at PTAB

Partner Sharon Israel will be one of the presenters for the AIPLA webinar “Changing Claim Construction Standards at the PTAB: What You Need to Know,” November 29, 2018. As of November 13, 2018, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board will construe patent claims consistent with the standard in federal district courts and the International Trade Commission. The webinar will cover claim construction from both petitioner and patent owner perspectives, the new standard, creating a record, managing parallel proceedings and timing issues, issue preclusion and other estoppel considerations. 

Israel will be joined on the panel by Jonathan Bowser of Unified Patents and Trenton Ward of Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP. CLE credit may be available. 

Israel is the current chair of AIPLA’s PTAB Trial Committee, and is a former president of the association.
