Martucci, Erbaz and Jutt: The Role of AI in Employment Processes
Integrating AI into human resource systems has increased efficiency, reduced bias and enhanced decision-making processes, but it has also raised significant ethical and practical concerns for employers. In an article for the Journal of the Missouri Bar, Shook National Employment Litigation and Policy Chair Bill Martucci and Associates Burcu Erbaz and Minha Jutt explore the multifaceted role of AI in employment processes, its benefits and potential drawbacks, and the current legal landscape around the use of AI in employment decisions.
Martucci, Erbaz and Jutt cowrote “The Role of AI in Employment Processes,” which was published in the Journal’s September-October 2024 issue. Martucci, Erbaz and Jutt said in the article that AI has the potential to revolutionize employment decisions and make decisions more efficient, fair and data-driven.
“However, to fully realize these benefits, organizations must address the significant ethical, legal, and practical challenges associated with AI use,” they said. “By adopting a thoughtful and responsible approach, organizations can leverage AI to enhance their HR practices while ensuring fairness, transparency, and respect for employee rights.”
